Your Turnitin guidance is moving!
We’re migrating our content to a new guides site. We plan to fully launch this new site in July. We are making changes to our structure that will help with discoverability and content searching. You can preview the new site now. To help you get up to speed with the new guidance structure, please visit our orientation page .
Registering LTI 1.3 with D2L Brightspace
The LTI 1.3 registration process involves several steps that must be followed in sequence. The only necessary ones are the initial creation in Turnitin and Brightspace, and to initialize it by creating a dummy assignment. If you already know how to deploy and link a registration, you can still use these guides as a reference.
Before you start... If you have used the previous 1.1 integration, we strongly urge you to get in touch with your D2L Brightspace Customer Success representative. They will be able to guide you through the migration process to ensure your assignments can travel with you.
Data swap - Learn how to create your LTI 1.3 registration in Turnitin. This step involves transferring data from Turnitin to Brightspace and adding data from Brightspace into the registration. Get Started!
Deploying your registration - Now your registration has been created, you have to deploy it to your Brightspace environment. Learn how.
Linking the registration - Link your new registration to a course to make it available to your instructors. Learn how.
Create a dummy assignment - Everything is now set-up, but you need to create a dummy assignment to initialize the registration with Turnitin. You'll only have to do this once. Your instructors will be able to jump directly into using Turnitin. Learn how.
Finished - You're all done! Users of the course you linked the registration to will now be able to use Turnitin assignments.
