Your Turnitin guidance is moving!
We’re migrating our content to a new guides site. We plan to fully launch this new site in July. We are making changes to our structure that will help with discoverability and content searching. You can preview the new site now. To help you get up to speed with the new guidance structure, please visit our orientation page .
Composition marks
Composition Marks are standard editing marks that you can utilize when editing and reviewing your peers’ papers.
- To add a composition mark to a paper, click Tools from the PeerMark toolbar to open the tools palette.
- Click on the relevant composition mark.
- Drag the composition mark to your desired location on the paper.
Composition mark symbols with yellow backgrounds on the palette are dynamic. These marks require resizing or text added to them when added to a paper.
- (Optional) To move a composition mark, select the mark and drag it to the new position on the paper and release. To delete, hover over the mark and when the trash can icon appears, select to delete the mark.
