Logging in via Clever Single Sign-On (SSO)

To use Clever SSO, your Clever account's District Admin will first have to set it up for your institution.

Once set up, there are two ways you can log in to Turnitin using your Clever login credentials. On the Turnitin login page, or through your Clever portal.

When logging in using Clever SSO, you will enter Turnitin as the default user type that has been set in your account settings. Set your default user type to instructor from your account settings.

Logging in via Turnitin

  1. Navigate to the Turnitin login page.
    1. If you're in the UK: https://www.turnitinuk.com/login_page.asp
    2. If you're anywhere else in the world: https://www.turnitin.com/login_page.asp

  2. Select the Log in with Clever button.

  3. This will take you to your Clever login page. Enter your Clever credentials and select Log in.

  4. Once you have logged in via Clever, you will be redirected back toyour Turnitin instructor homepage.

Logging in via Clever

Once your Clever District Admin has set up Clever SSO with your Turnitin account, you can access Turnitin through your Clever portal.

  1. Log in to your Clever portal.
  2. Select the Turnitin logo.
  3. You will be taken throughyour Turnitin instructor homepage.

Students using Clever SSO

If a student already has an account with Turnitin (using the same email address the student has registered in Clever), this student’s Turnitin account will be tied to their Clever account when they first use Clever SSO. If they are rostered on a class, logging in using Clever SSO will take them to their class homepage. If they have not been rostered on a class, logging in using Clever SSO will take them to their Turnitin student homepage.

If the student does not have a Turnitin account, logging in using Clever SSO will create a new Turnitin account for this student and take them to their Turnitin student homepage.
