Your Turnitin guidance is moving!
We’re migrating our content to a new guides site. We plan to fully launch this new site in July. We are making changes to our structure that will help with discoverability and content searching. You can preview the new site now. To help you get up to speed with the new guidance structure, please visit our orientation page .
Interpreting the Student Progress Page
The Student Progress page shows different data depending on the type of assignment (Signal Check, Spot Check, or Expansion Pack) you're looking at. Expand the links below to help you understand what you might find on the Student Progress page based on the assignment type.
If you see... | It means... |
These are the latest Signal Check scores your student received for each rubric trait. Because this is a Signal Check or Expansion Pack assignment, your student has also seen these scores. |
Your student wrote an essay and turned in it. |
Your student requested a Signal Check and is still working. A check next to scores will appear and then disappear if a student turns in work but continues to write. You can click on the student's name to view their current draft. |
Your student hasn't started working OR |
Your student requested a Signal Check on work that could not be scored or turned in work that could not be scored. |
If you see... | It means... |
These are the scores your student received for each rubric trait on their most recently submitted or collected work. Remember, in Spot Check, students do not get any guidance or feedback as they write and only teachers can see students' scores. |
Your student turned in their essay and you collected work for the whole class. |
Your student hasn't submitted work yet OR |
Your student submitted work, but you haven't clicked Collect Work yet. |
Your student turned in work that could not be scored. |
