Your Turnitin guidance is moving!
We’re migrating our content to a new guides site. We plan to fully launch this new site in July. We are making changes to our structure that will help with discoverability and content searching. You can preview the new site now. To help you get up to speed with the new guidance structure, please visit our orientation page .
Submission indexing
The account administrator has three account setting options centered around Submission Indexing:
- Index all submissions - All submissions will be indexed in the account's private repository and will be available for comparison in Similarity Reports.
- Allow users to choose - At upload, you are given the opportunity to index your submission to the account's repository and make it available for comparison in Similarity Reports. Simply select or deselect the check box as appropriate.
If you don't see this option at upload, that's because the account administrator has either selected to Index all submissions or Don't index any submissions. Speak to your account administrator for clarification on which setting they've chosen, or if you have administrator access to your account you can see what option is selected from the account settings page.
- Don't index any submissions - No submissions will be indexed to the private repository, and therefore not available for comparison in Similarity Reports.
